Bustami Strikes Again!
4th round of the Jordan Karting Championship |
31 November 2008 |
Very bad weather during the week and heavy showers forced the drivers to do all the track work only the day before the race when the track dried up. The track was so slippery and all drivers were slower than the average.
Top three drivers are fighting for the championship lead with one point only between each of them. Mohammad Bustami, Ahmad Sukhtian and Tarek Sukhtian, all desperately need the first position 12 points to take the lead.
Championship current leader and Ramadan Champion, Bustami was fastest in the qualifying sessions and placed himself in pole position ahead of Sukhtian brothers, Anwar Malas, Sanad Shannak, Othman Abu Samra and Mohammad Abdeen.
On the start of the pre-final race, Bustami easily maintained his position and flew to widen the gap. The 2007 champion, Tarek Sukhtian, overtook his brother on the first turn of the race, but Ahmad was faster and regained his 2nd place on the 6th lap and started to widen the gap as well.
Anwar Malas faced technical problems and had to leave the race. Othman Abu Samra was racing for the first time on the ICA engine and on the RACJ circuit, was fighting for 4th place with Sanad Shannak who was defending his position. Abdeen did not start in the pre-final because of technical problems.
After the pre-final race, Tarek Sukhtian says “Yesterday I was much faster, the kart is not handling well and I am not being able to push to the maximum.”
On the final race, Mohammad again maintained his first place and won the race to extend his championship lead! But this time with much more pressure from Tarek Sukhtian with two attempts to take over the lead. Ahmad Sukhtian spun on turn two and lost 3 laps before he restarted!
Malas mounted his spare engine, but again faced a technical problem and forced him to leave the race. Abu Samra put much more pressure on Shannak this time and tried to overtake him but he spun off.
Race winner and championship leader Mohammad Bustami said “It was a great race! Everything was running perfect! Many thanks to my sponsors Jordan Karting and Makaseb. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Hamza Dirani and Emile Azar for the great support!”
Faisal Bustami and Mahmoud Dajani were not able to take part in this race as they have travelled for university.

During the race it’s going to be different, I will be running on new tires which will make me much quicker”.
Mohammad Bustami changed the setup of the kart to get better grip and said that there is still more to give. “I had a bad tire choice in the first round which resulted in being slower by one second. Now we’ve changed the setup of the kart and the tires are working much better. The engine is running perfectly and I still have more to give, many thanks to my mechanic Emile Azar”
The top five winners will be awarded with prizes from Bridgestone, Jordan Speed Center and Liqui Moly.

Mohammad Bustami: Pole position, fastest and winner of the race!
Round 3 of Jordan Karting Championship |
August 15, 2008 |
With lots of accidents this weekend, Mohammad Bustami managed to lead the race starting from the Qualifying till the end of the race. M Bustami set the fastest time during qualifying in his last lap followed by Faisal Bustami who was fastest in first two rounds. The Sukhtian brothers came in 3rd and 4th followed by their team mate, Sanad Shannak.
In the pre final race, the pole man had a great start and flew to widen the gap. Current champion Tarek Sukhtian retired few laps after the start due to a crack in his chassis. Faisal Bustami and Ahmad Sukhtian were competing on the 2nd place. Nadim Haddad, one of the new drivers to the championship had an accident with Mahmoud Dajani which resulted in missing few laps of the race. Saif Abdelhadi also had some technical problems and had to leave the race early.
At the grid of the Final Race, Faisal Bustami’s kart had some electric problems in the engine to he couldn’t start the race. Tarek Sukhtian managed to weld his chassis so he can at least finish the race to get some valuable points for his overall standings. Mohammad Bustami started in first place, followed by Ahmad Sukhtian but on the 7th lap of the race, Sanad Shannak flipped over and the race was stopped. Shannak was taken to the hospital for check and the race was restarted.
On the restart of the race, Mohammad started in first place and again flew to widen to win the race and this time to set the fastest lap as well. | TONY KART RACING TEAM, 2007 WORLD CHAMPIONS!!! |
22 September 2007 |
On the circuit in Mariembourg, our Team lived another unforgettable day gaining the well-deserved World Championship thanks to Marco Ardigò.
The result of the KF1 class is more than clear: our Racing Team showed its solidity for the whole weekend gaining the prefinal pole-position with Gary Catt and placing a great double-barrelled in the queen class of Karting.
During the qualifying our Driverslay the foundation for the victory: Gary and Marco literally fly and monopolize the list of the timing. Catt scores immediately a magnificent and unreachable 53”530, followed by the 53”595 scored by Marco in the second manche of the qualifying.
In the manches Gary gets no penalty and winning three times, he get the pole position of the prefinal and also Marco’s rhythm is very good. Marco is only stopped by the Team-mate and by Sauro Cesetti (Birel-Iame-Bridgestone).
The starting grid of the final is decided at the beginning of the prefinal: at the starting-signal Marco, on the external side of the track, sprang very fast and drove to the finishing line in front of the Team-mate Gary. Behind the green drivers, immediately arrive the blue-cousins of the Kosmic Team, Niko Bollingtoft and Bailly, followed by the other Tony Kart English driver James Calado.
The result of the final was the decided when the drivers started : Marco is perfect and goes away very fast imposing an incredible rhythm , impossible to be reache by the competitors. Gary looses two positions and he is obliged to display his determination in order to recover and get back to his second position. Our English driver overtakes Kozlinski at first (Crg-Tm-Bridgestone) and Bollingtoft then (Kosmic-Vortex-Bridgestone), trying to follow and catch Marco.
The race is an amazing fight through fastest laps between Marco and Gary, the competitors cannot keep the rhythm and the check-flag kisses the head of Tony Karrt-Vortex-Marco Ardigò. With all the green on the podium, we also have our Team Manager Giacomo Aliprandi, completing the success of a Team in which the armony of the group and the organisation are some of the most important features.
Not so lucky was the race of our Drivers in the KF2 class: the performances of the European Champion Will Stevens were ok, but an ill-fated, stupid failure stopped our Driver when he was ready to get the front line.
Although these troubles, in the final, Will recovered from the back-lines and demonstrated how big our potential is. For the young Driver there is a important challenge in the next future: he will drive in the KF1 with our Official Team.
Our Customers made also very good performances, especially the Ward Team and the JJ-KS Racing who placed respectively Wernersson and Deschamps in the 4th and 5th placement.
The title in the KF1 is the seal of a season that gave us unforgettable satisfactions, giving us also a push to go on with the intense job of research and development of out means.
